Phyics Ionising Radiation (GCSE)

I understand that Beta and alpha can knock off an electron in the body

But is this because...

Alpha is positive so it attracts a negative electron out of the shell

and Beta is negative so it repels a negative electron out of the shell orbit

Is this correct?
If you're talking about aqa physics then it doesnt matter, you don't need to know

You just need to know alphas most ionising, then beta, then gamma

Ionisation - kill/damage cells-mutant-divide uncontrollably -cancer
