student accom problem

hi all,

i'm looking at going to northubria Uni in newcastle which is about an hour from where i live.
I want to live in uni for the 1st year because i think it will be better than travelling an hour everyday, and i will be right in the city centre, and get the whole uni experience of meeting new people etc.

I like everything about the uni, and have a conditional offer.
Do you think i will have a hard chance getting into student accom?
I really want to stay at uni, what are my chances?

Most uni's guarantee accomodation in halls for the first year!

depends how close you are according to the uni. best bet is to ring the accommodation office and ask about their guarantees of accom to students with Newcastle postcodes.

Local students - from within NE1-18, NE20-42, DH2, 3, 4 and 9, and SR1-6. Unfortunately, for the 2007 entry, owing to demand from students outside Tyne and Wear, the University is unable to offer rooms to local students before the start of the academic year. However, you may still apply for accommodation and your application will be placed on a waiting list for vacancies that arise after the start of term.

if your postcode is one of those, looks like you won't be able to get accom.
