22, never really had alcohol. What do I start with?

I'm 22, and yep, I've never really had alcohol. I've not really had any interest in it or getting to the point where I can't stand up. Haha.

I need to chill out a bit more though, and need to socialise more and I just feel like the left out idiot if I go to a pub with mates and don't drink.

I've only tried Thatcher's which I was a bit unsure of. What could I drink? What's a nice lager/beer etc?

Thanks

P.S. I'm one of those 'young' 22 year olds who probably still looks about 16. That's one of the reasons why I've not really gotten into it.

I'd start with Carling, it's refreshing and has a relatively low alcohol content

Cider. Or you could go straight vodka shots and experience being drunk (you don't need many as a lightweight)

Pretty much.

King Goblin is good OP, but that's 6.6% and will get you steaming very fast if you don't normally drink.

Reckon you'd be pissed off one.
Isn't Thatchers cider? I would try with a fruit cider tastes like pop lightly alcoholic something like Strongbow fruited cider.
Shandy.

Yes, it is.

Stay away from the strong stuff.

And don't do what some numpty (not me!) did - he got asked to buy some cheap beer. Did that and bought two crates of alcohol free beer... Very nice though!

Jaegermeister.

Then Jack daniels.

Then wine.

Then beer.

Then Aftershock.

Then Sourz.

Then repeat.

He's never drank alcohol before, going for spirits straight away will probably kill him.

Worked for me. Better start on the strong stuff to get used to it.

Other than that, wine maybe? If he wants to ease into it I guess

Koppaberg is a nice one you can start with.
I'd start with cider (I did start with cider), Magners and Bulmers are your decent bog standard ones. Strongbow is popular because it's cheap but it's cheap for a reason. Various fruit ciders are quite nice and can be cheap.

Beers I'd start with european ones as they tend to be lighter (in terms of taste not alcohol content), Peroni is quite nice. Once you've gotten used to them, if you enjoy pubs, ales would be the next thing to try as good pubs tend to have guest ales.

Wines are an acquired taste, have them with food, I found reds easier to start with than whites.

Anything that comes in a shot glass you're not drinking for the taste so who gives a ****.
Alcohol is a completely useless expense. Don't drink and fund yourself a holiday from that money instead.

I'm 22 and I'll be 2 years sober on September 16th. I abstain from alcohol altogether now, so I'm not particularly good with advice on what would be suitable to drink. However, if you'd have quite a sensitive taste, then I'd humbly suggest a fruity cider e.g kopperberg mixed fruit or strawberry to enjoy as a warm-up, then I always liked Jagerbombs, SkittleBombs and Speedball's (Vodka+Red bull) when in clubs etc.

Absinthe you'll either die and never want to drink again or survive stronger than ever
