Spanish classes at college instead of A level

I want to go to college but the colleges near me do not offer Spanish as an A level which I really want to do, they do offer Spanish classes (which you have to pay for). I was wondering if i did the Spanish classes would it still be as good as doing an A level and would Universities notice it?
