No one wants to put boots on the ground again since I think most people will agree that the Iraq war was a failure. Taking out ISIS won't fix the problem. Fighting an idioglogy is a lot more difficult than bombing a few people.

Like I said, everyone is quick to dismiss any solutions without even suggesting what should be done. What do you think should happen then? War is not an option, should we let them in? Let in the millions? Possibly risking a few thousands terrorists and extremists at the same time? What do you think will happen once this ideology spreads? You think letting in the migrants will kill it or? Maybe you just haven't turned on the TV, maybe you missed Paris, Sydney, Belgium, Thailand.

You're telling some ragheads with no training at all, no advanced military weapons or intel would last a year against the US army, British Army and NATO?

Heard that one before.

Or because, y'know, they are their children.

And that is why they hold them near the fences in Macedonia to try and use their children to get sympathy from the police and military? What a joke.

These 'refugees' in Macedonia refused aid boxes because it was not Halal!?

So are these lot likely to be contributors, and look after us when we're sick?

It's not their fault there's not enough housing and the NHS is crammed, but it doesn't matter whose fault it is - the problems exist, and won't be helped by bring in "refugees".

One more leftist soundbite for the road "the NHS would fall apart without immigration" (in response to unskilled immigrants).

Their fault because there are plenty of safe nearby countries to flee to that doesn't require crossing the sea...

Why not go to Turkey or Jordan?

Turkey and Jordan have each taken more than an order of magnitude more refugees than we have. Even Germany has only taken around half of the refugees that those countries have taken in. Turkey and Jordan make our attempts look absolutely pathetic, yet neither country (especially Jordan) is particularly wealthy and they are in no financial position to be able to take all of these refugees in. It is an absolute disgrace that people are perfectly fine with relatively poor countries like Jordan and Turkey taking in millions of refugees yet get outraged when the UK is expected to do a take on a tiny share of the burden.
Hmm on BBC news now showing riots in Bulgaria due Bulgaria trying to take people on trains to registration centres as per EU policy, but the migrants are rioting and clashing with police and screaming "Germany, Germany".

...good luck Germany.

Twitter user @CharlieWinter posted some interesting stuff on this and why we should let some in:

The victimhood narrative - the idea that Muslims are killed & the world doesn't care - has always been a key theme in jihadist propaganda. We've always failed to cut thru this narrative, even w/ aid & rhetoric. Aid is good but doesn't solve root cause. Rhetoric? Waste of time.

Syria war is at lowest low & no state has appetite to resolve. Longer the stalemate/disinterest lasts, the more that jihadists benefit. In these circumstances, groups like #IS & #Nusra can sell themselves as providers, avengers &, most important, the least worst option.

Jihadists use the refugees & dead children to capitalise on victimhood narrative & ensure they are ALWAYS least worst option. Jihadists say "Look, the West cares for Palmyra & not your kids. We're only ones who care, who're doing something, who can protect you."

In war on IS, there is no panacea counternarrative to beat its propaganda. We NEED to think about our own narrative. We NEED to take carpet out from under IS's feet w/ acts that undermine, by their very occurrence, its spurious "missionary" claims.

Yes, letting them in will definitely stop these terrorists. You are delusional. I'm slowly starting to believe there will always be some extremist group causing havoc. After Al Qaeda, ISIS, after ISIS - > something else.

"People like me" basically people like me that care about the country instead of opening it up to be economically gang raped?

Lol, ofc. Because a Bulgaria is a war torn country full of violence and persecution. These people are trying to escape - thats all. Definitely not trying to get to Germany because they are an economic superpower within the EU.

How many are you taking in while sitting up there on your high horse? Spare room? They can sleep on your sofa?

The only way to defeat an ideology is to build an opposing narrative.

You asked whether six terrorists was too few or whatever. No one is saying that terrorism is good okay, but yeah, I'd say it's too few to make the link between immigrants/refugees and terrorist attacks.

you probably feel 6 is too few because you already expected some form of terrorism will happened when you take in refugees.
