English Literature a good choice?

I want to know what past students experiences with the subject has been like to get a better understanding of what I'm getting myself into by taking the course lmao
What topics do you study? Is the workload as hard as people make it out to be? Is it a decent subject? Do you regret taking the course? Sorry for all the questions I'm just curious lol

Also if you do communication studies could you also answer these questions ^^;
I suggest you look at the specific English Lit degree (+ modules) at the uni you're planning to apply to. It's a great degree if you're passionate about it. Just make sure you get a decent amount of work experience during your degree; it's extra important for Arts grads.

Edit: a bit of general info: be prepared to read tons of books, do background reading, spend many hours working independently, write tons of essays, proof read, analyse texts in detail, use/find numerous secondary sources, and so on. Source: I'm a Comparative Lit grad.
