Brokeback mountain comparative essay

Can anyone help me with comparisons between the reader and brokeback and maybe an essay question? Thank you!!

Hmmm... I've not read The Reader but I've seen the film (I realise it's not the same, but hey ho!)

-Something about illicit love
-or maybe bucking the trend with romance novels by both having 'unhappy' endings
-hostile environments (the physical environment of the mountain vs political/social hostility of Nazi Germany)

I've always wanted to read The Reader, would you recommend it?
