7A* and 5As
I'm doing 8 GCSEs so how do people do 9 or more GCSEs? If I had the choice I'd do more subjects. Is it just some schools allow you to do more? I do Maths, Science Core and Additional, English Language and Literature, RE, History and BTEC Business. My target grades are all Bs except for Maths which is a C, RE which is an A* and BTEC Business which is Distinction (equivalent to A).

Just to motivate people who feel disheartened by their teacher's opinions of their grade. This was given to me in April.

SUBJECT TARGET CURRENT ACHIEVEMENT FINAL GRADE
English Language B C A*
English Literature B B A*
Maths C C A
Biology B C A*
Chemistry B B A*
Physics B U A*
Drama B C C
Geography B B B
History B B A
Religious Studies B C A*

In everything bold, I got 2 or more grades higher than my apparent 'current achievement' in April. Sometimes you really should bin your report cards.
1 A* 1A 3B 2C's 2D's

My 2 D's was math i was 1 mark off a C :frown: And Science i tried and tried with this subject but it wouldnt stick

Honestly, I had taken my Chinese GCSE in year 8 and my other extra was further maths we was offered on a Monday after school for an hour. They basically covered he basics but we had to revise majority of the content by ourselves.
2- B's
4- C's
4- D's

Did it matter? NO!!
Im doing a Chefs course at college and loving it! Honestly mate trust me when I say this, GCSE grades are only souly important for moving onto particular Courses and Sixth Forms. Will an employer look at you on disgust because you got an 'E' in Religious Studies? No, of course not!!!

If you wanna make yourself feel better, English and Maths are the most universal grades. If you at least get a C in both, you are all good for your career in the future unless your future job is extremely sophisticated.

I stressed out way too much during my exams, after recieving my results i realised that GCSE's just determine where you will have to be improsined for another 2 years of your life minimum!

Basically just chill! If you do good, well done! If you do ****, well, who cares? ONLY YOU!

Nice, what did you get for each subject?

A*-French, German, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Religious studies, English lit
A-Geography, Art, Biology, English lang
Just as an indicator of how irrelevant GCSE grades can be- my GCSE English teacher was an utter cow. She bullied my friend so much in the end she moved classes so she started on me. Took great delight in constantly telling me how rubbish I was at English and when I asked for a predicted grade for my Language paper she smirked and said ‘I think it’s going to be a D’ even though she knew fine well it wasn’t.
Okay, it’s 20 years on but I am now doing a Masters in English specialising in Language/Linguistics with a view to continuing on to PhD level. I have a 2:1 in my undergraduate degree (English Language and Literature) and in my last few Language assignments I got straight firsts. I have an A-Level in English Language and in case you’re wondering- I got a Grade B for my English paper
I would think she’s probably retired by now but I would so love to see that teacher and tell her- not bad for someone supposedly so thick I would fail my GCSE and that ironically I am now more qualified than her

My GCSE grades were B’s in both Englishes, RE and German, C in History and Geography, DD in Sciences and (I’ve taken Maths four times now) E,E,E,D (I have very severe dyscalculia)

Really well done! How did you revise for maths I need an A in maths?

Past papers, past papers, past papers until you know how to do every question they throw at you. I took maths a year early and all I did for the last few months up until the exam was try and fill in past papers and then look over the Qs I got wrong and revised those topics... hope that helps
1 A, 6 B's and 4 C's.

2As and 7Bs ... The mock exam before GCSE was absolutely horrendous and I'm sure I've talked about it in one of my older Grow Your Grades threads. If you need help with motivation watch Revision With Eve and Unjaded Jade, they're both excellent YouTubers with great advice on revision. Of course there's others out there who are also good. Btw what subjects do you do? I might be able to help.
