My dad's blackmailing me

So I'm sitting watching TV and the subject of marriage came up.

He said "son, get married soon".

He also went on to say get married so she can also help me with cooking and that (my mom passed away when I was 11).

He also said something about because he's approaching 60 he's health is not getting any better.

I don't know what to do here, I'm 27 and I've done a lot for my family, when will I get my independence and what I want?

My sister has all the independence in the world and she has no stress.

I feel there is a bit of blackmail and selfishness here and he defines how my marriage should be,

Blackmail? What's he threatening to do to you if you don't?

Sounds like he's just passing on what he thinks is good advice. Which you don't need to follow.

I forgopt to add I would just do my own thing and wouldnt get married just for the sake of finding someone to help with the cooking. Maybe you cna afford someone to help with the cooking or get him some assistance? Upi dont hive any impression whether any of its cultural.
