exactly ! will cambridge and oxford understand my situation? atleast, i will have 4 other a-levels to depend on even if they dnt count my maths.
I'd be amazed if they had a problem with it; the only issue I can see is if "the official rules" said they couldn't count it for matriculation and you wouldn't have enough A-levels without it. That is clearly not the case here.

If you're applying for Maths (or anything fairly "mathy" like Physics), an 'A' in A-level maths doesn't mean much anyhow. They'll want to see how you get on with STEP.

But with all these things, the obvious thing to do is ask them. In my experience, if they decide they want you, they won't let any silly rules about when you took modules bother them.

I think you would be silly to let it stop you applying without finding out first if it will actually be a problem.
