Erm... because his foreign policy was gettin aggressive in abyssinia etc which resulted in him moving away from Britain and France and and nearer to Hitler, which ultimately gave Hitler an ally to aid going to war. Mussolini also by siding with Hitler could no longer be used to aid appeasement the policy promoted by Britian like he had done when he initiated talks with Hitler over Czechoslovakia- the Munich agreement, and thus war looked more and more likely. Hope this helps haven't looked studied Mussolini for over a year :s-smilie:
