what are the societies like at Kent?

I see at some Uni's they have been signing up for societies like the Harry Potter society or badminton.
Kent have the same thing?

There are several societies over here, from the Sci fi nerds (such as me) to a film society to a pirate society. If next year is the same, there's a day dedicated to societies during freshers in which people shout/talk/hand you leaflets and try to convince you to join. Beware the Drama club. They won't stop until they own your soul.

Being a complete nerd one of my socs is the Anime society. Today from 10A.M to 6 we had an event basically introducing anime and the important series. Some socs are more organized then others, and email is generally used to keep you up to date with...stuff.

Oh and then's there's sports too, which also get their own day.

There's loads of different societies here, and if they dnt have one you like, with enough people the uni will fund you to set one up. I'm signing up for the badminton club/society, and i know people have joined all kinds of things here like the pirates society, and i saw a viking society yesterday, all of them in their little hats and costumes. Very cute! :biggrin:
