People are deluded if they think Saudi Arabia is undergoing reform. It's not. The new prince is nothing more than a tyrant who's concerned that Saudi Arabia will fall due to how dependent it is on oil and is attempting to move towards commerce and free enterprise as a safety net.

This man seems smarter than other dictators, he knows giving the plebs a hint of 'liberalisation' by making some immaterial good noises will help secure his power base among the young and make the despots in the west more receptacle to him.
