when going to uni, which is better? going to home town uni or moving away?

I've still got a couple of years before I go to uni but I'm pretty sure I won't be staying in Liverpool. I like Liverpool and it's a good uni but I think uni is also about exploring a new place and being independent; leaving your comfort zone.
