Vocational masters degrees

I want to do a masters degree which basically almost guarantees a job at the end of it!

I have a 1st in bsc biochemistry

What are the best masters courses out there that will practically let me walk into a job after graduating?

Thanks

None. No degree is going to guarantee you a job.

None. They're academic degrees not vocational ones.

Are you sure?

I have seen msc courses in audiology for example

I have had enough of this academic nonsense and not knowing what to do!

Ok but you are not guaranteed a job at the end. You will need further training and to secure a job through a competitive process.

Right but there is still no guaranteed job at the end. No degree will ever promise you that. Even medics have to apply for jobs which is a competitive process. If you look in the careers section it says experience is required.

It mentions the types of jobs people could possibly do as experience is acquired, not that experience is required to get your foot in the door

But yes, that is because of the clinical practice year integrated into this 2-year masters course

Im just thinking... this is an example of a vocational masters course (it even says so in that link i posted)... im trying to find other vocational ones too... but im finding it a tad difficult!

Ok I see the confusion now. I’ve edited my initial post to clarify what I meant which is that no degree is going to guarantee you a job because it’s still an academic qualification ie not work experience or a recruitment agency.

It sounds like you’re just looking for vocational courses you can do with your current qualifications. You’ll just have to research that but the bottom line still remains that no degree will guarantee you a job. You have to apply. I think you’re misreading what they’re saying though which is that you still need experience even to secure a job that isn’t specialised. Good luck!

Oh yes, i am aware of that, which is why i specifically mentioned the words *almost* and *practically* in the op.

But it’s true that vocAtional courses tend to be the best for employability and also working in a field that is directly related to the course you did

Im really not sure. I thought the clinical placement year is what is required for you to become a member of whatever professional body and become fully qualified. And then you can obviously apply for jobs and stuff

What about, medicine?

Again accreditation doesn’t mean you will get a job. There are plenty of people who are members of professional bodies who don’t secure jobs in the field. If you plan to work in the NHS a lot will depend on how many jobs there are that year for example.
This is so poorly thought through it’s worrying. If I said ‘Master of Divinity’ would you go and become a vicar?

But let’s be honest here, they are the minority. The majority of medical students get onto fy1. The majority of optometrists and pharmacists get onto a pre reg year and get jobs afterwards. The majority of dental students also have no problems

You get the idea

We’re just going round in circles now. Do you actually know how some of these processes work? You may want to do some research and work it out first.
now you guys are making it sound that it is impossible to get a job

And we are talking about vocational courses too

This is madness

Might as well get a job in tesco cos no course is worth it cos it’s ludicrously competitive and you need 10 years exprience and there are not enough jobs going

Stop whinging, decide what you want to do in life, then work out what you need to do to get there.
Jesus christ why did this thread from 4 years ago make me want to scream! Or course jobs aren't guaranteed but there are still many, many vocational courses that lead straight into a careers. I'm pretty sure the NHS staff shortage wasn't much better 4 years ago. Honestly yall sound like such ********s - original poster just wanted some advice
