Hi there

I've just queried your questions with our ResLife team and this is their response:

"Our application portal requires you to rank all of the available accommodation options to complete the application. This is to make sure we can offer the most suitable accommodation to all of our applicants. We’re just finalising some arrangements for College Court and will update the portal when everything is confirmed. You can still submit an application and pop a comment in the notes at the end of the application stating your preference for College Court."

Hope that helps.

Thanks

Amy

Hi @keiti-tenshi
It's great to hear you are joining us and have accommodation sorted. There will be a Facebook group aimed at new students which you should have details of in the near future.

In the meantime, you can chat with our ResLife team via their channel: https://www.facebook.com/staffshalls/

Here are a couple of useful links that might help you.

Hi Staffordshire University,

Could you please help me. My son has already signed for a room in a house share in the private houses that are next to/between the university. He would be going into his 2nd year, but has dropped out of the course now and will no longer be attending the university. Is there somewhere he can advertise this room to other 2nd/3rd year students who may still be looking for accommodation.

I fear we are going to be left paying for a year of accommodation that we simply can't afford.

Hi @redmel1621

I'm sorry to hear that your son has left Staffs.

When he joined, did he join our 'Fresh for 18' FB group? This is a group we set up so students can meet each other and start making friends before they start. We, as a University, stop managing this group after 6 months or so - but students still continue to use it throughout their time at Staffs - and a lot of students use this group to advertise accommodation options. I'd definitely advise posting in that group. If he's not a member, let me know and I can find the link to the group for you.

Did your son organise this accommodation through our Greenpad lettings agency? If so, I'd advertise getting in touch with them as they may be able to help: https://www.greenpad.co.uk/web/site

I hope that helps.

Thanks

Amy

Hi @MaxPerkz
Thanks for raising this. Processing times can vary according to the volume of applications being received. If you need to check the progress of your application, it's best to contact [email protected] directly who will be happy to advise you. King regards, Shaun

Hi @Lee_Diabarha

Hope you are well and looking forward to starting your degree in September.

Thanks for getting in touch. The best place to start would be our Greenpad service - https://www.greenpad.co.uk/web/site - They can give you advice on suitable private accommodation in the area. You can also get advice on mental health support for students at our Student Hub - https://www.staffs.ac.uk/student-hub

I hope this is helpful,
Kind regards,
Shaun

Hi everyone,

If anyone is still looking for accommodation, my landlord has two rooms in a newly refurbished house available on Queen Anne Street (the street right next to the library). They are £90 a week, including all bills. He has been a super landlord and I really recommend him - he has been really helpful and genuinely cares about the property. More info and contact here: https://www.staffsproperty.com/
