Nuclear engineering

I am thinking about a future career in the nuclear power or the renewable energy sector and have been looking at different degrees such as mechanical engineering, and nuclear engineering. I was just wondering if anyone has any advice in which direction I should be looking in, regarding a university degree and work experience of some sort. Thankyou !

It would probably be best to do something broad at undergrad level, like mechanical or electrical, and then either seek jobs in those industries directly or study a more specialised MSc if required. I know that's a bit generic, but during your undergrad you'll have time to look into and apply for placements in those industries, and to learn more about them.
