Why is Lil Wayne now trash?

Wasn't he always?

He used to spit pure flames, listen to his “No Ceilings” mixtape it’s unbelievably so good you question if Lil Wayne is even human. But now he is absolutely terrible, his latest album is awful I could have made a better album myself. How can someone go from rap god to rap peasant? Lil Wayne is still IMO the greatest rapper to have ever lived based on his past work.

ye old rappers dont tend to last long cuz most of the hip hop/rap genre are teens who either listen to lil pump or tyler the creator. u wont see any of the ojs on anybodys playlist.

I have, wasn’t for me tbh. In all honesty I don’t really listen to hiphop/rap as much as I used to since the music is now very different to how it was in 2005-2010. I am trying to expand on the artists I listen to but keep running into trash. I do like some new artists like Da Baby, and if I’m in the mood I’ll listen to 21 Savage but I’m from a time where artists like Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Eminem etc were good, compare these artists to todays standards and its basically a different genre.

But a lot of these haters havent really listened to this kind of music - I usually have to go through an album more than once before I actually begin to like it (regardless of genre/artist).

Since its dominating the rap genre atm and its not going anywhere the least they can do is try to like it.
