So I've tried contacting the store that I was interesting in working at but no answer. Is there a special line for job inquiries?

Yes, applied for the same role but it's in another store a little bit further away from where I live.

KPIs stand for Key Performance Indicators which basically show area and regional management how well the store is doing in sales. They do this by measuring the KPIs.

Now the more KPIs you sell, obviously the better it reflects on you and the store as the KPIs can be tracked (karrimor wall shoes and insoles due to the payroll number, and bags for life due to who is operating the till point at that time). The store has a target for the day/week which is must pass - on top of that there is also a company average which reflects how well the company is doing, which by passing it shows that the store is excelling.

Some KPIs such as karrimor wall shoes and insoles/heelcups can give you commission although its only really the guys based on footwear who get the opportunity to sell these, bags for life don't give you commission unfortunately. Back when I joined the company 20 months ago the only KPI was bags for life - no other KPI existed!

But managers also care about KPIs because if they surpass their target then they get their bonus ontop of their salaries.

All in all, KPIs are a load of twoddle but if you can't sell them then you jeopardise your career with the Company as the managers want SELLERS. You can make a few bob out of it but this only works if you work on footwear and if you sell a good few insoles (my commission this month was £9.50 from insoles and heelcups), so if you work on tills then you're kinda stuck.

Hope this helps and any more questions feel free to ask!

I'm just double checking here with the puma socks, is it with the running shoes or just all the trainers overall?

I think it works for trainers overall, but really you should offer karrimor socks for running trainers (basically anything that starts with a 21 code) and offer puma socks for anything else

Just realised that I didn't answer the second part of your question, I'm pretty sure the discount can be applied straight away, as long as you know your payroll number

Haha aww don't worry about it, I used to get confused when I started selling the KPIs because I didn't know how they were calculated (I was so happy one day when I sold 50 sondico socks which worked out at like 145%, but as only half of them or so were sold with boots it was really something like 58% :colondollar: )

And don't worry about using your discount, I've only used it about six times or so and it's mainly for trainers to wear at work or stuff like that - I waited six months to use mine just to be on the safe side!

There is talk that I could be getting trained on shirt printing - it's something I've always wanted to do as it'd make things run much smoother on the basement floor :woo:

I've bought about five pairs of trainers with the discount - along with some puma socks to wear at work of course

Ours is downstairs in the small stockroom where all the football related stuff is, plus there's also talk of me training up any member of staff that wants to specialise in football boots or who wants to get more in-depth knowledge about what studs to wear, what product to suggest for what position etc.

Don't worry about the questions, t'is what I can help ya with  from what I've heard there's only one store you can use it at - that store being the one you work at. The discount also applies to all items - I've bought some of the Sports Direct mugs and bowls from there admittedly, as well as trainers, puma socks etc. :colondollar: literally, if we stock it in store we can use the discount on them

Which store do you work at by the way?
