Have you used the wipes before? Have you left your phone out in the sun? Have you done anything different with your phone lately?

Was it the first time you have ever used a wipe on it?
Take it to a repair shop

You probably won't be fixing it, at least not yourself. Antibacterial wipes are not intended for use on phones, and if turning the phone off and on isn't enough to fix it you've probably damaged some internal components. Most likely there's moisture damage, with possible corrosion.

You'll need to take the phone to a specialist that deals in phone repairs, and then hope the repair fee isn't too expensive.
omg I had the same problem but I just kept powering on and off and somehow it worked. However, my power button isnt that effective now.

Thanks, but I don't really understand how wiping on the surface can cause internal damage, the back case of the phone cannot be detached so I don't know. I think there is some sort of protective layer on the top of the screen which has now come off causing this whole issue, there is white lines across the phone screen from top to bottom, those white lines look a similar shape and size to the coating that was on the top which is no longer there (I think)....

Really?? How many times did you power on and off because I've tried on and off once, I've tried restarting several times but still no difference, I can't use the touchscreen that much, it has improved a little bit (if i press a bit i can type the passcode and maybe press an app)

How many times did you restart your device for it to work??

Your phone is not a single sealed unit, it is made up of multiple pieces. The screen in particular will be a separate piece from the rest of the phone, and even if you can't see it there will be tiny gaps that can potentially allow moisture in. Nowdays many phones have some level of water resistance, but that doesn't make them immune to liquid damage.

There are reports that using antibacterial wipes can cause damge to the protective layer on top of the screen. This may or may not be what's happened and the cause of the problem. We can't really say, especially without seeing the phone. But it sounds like this is physical damage which won't be fixed by turning the phone off and on repeatedly. Either way the previous point remains, to fix any physical damage you'll need to take it to a professional. If you've worn off the protective coating on the screen that'll require a screen replacement. If you've caused internal damage such as corrosion that may require component replacement.

Oh woow 20+ times? I didn't want to do it that many times, I might try again. So is your screen still broken and was it unresponsive when you tried to touch it? Sorry for the questions but I think this is very very similar to my situation.

Thanks

Not on my phone because it is not working :frown:
OP this is what you need to do next. Take the phone in a plastic bag to a local phone shop or contact your phone company directly for advice. Ring up a phone shop, email, make contact via their Facebook/Twitter accounts with a member of staff or just walk in asking to see what could be done to salvage your phone. In the meantime do not touch it as you risk being hurt. Start saving for a new phone asap in case.

For what it's worth, these don't sound like similar issues. It sounds like anonymous had a graphical problem, which was fixed by power cycling the phone, whereas you mention the protective layer on the screen being scratched off which is a physical problem. No amount of power cycling will replace the physical layer on the screen. I'd also be very wary of trying to replicate or follow any instructions, as you risk making things worse. Take it to a professional, even if it's just to get an opinion on what the problem actually is.
