Resits in the AS im dropping to A2

Hey everyone,

I was having a mini debate with my exams officer on what the situation is if you would like to resit some modules to improve an AS grade. She said that i dont have to decline my grade but just resit and then i will get a certificate saying what i got in June and then what my result is in January.

I thought you declined the grade and then resat and got a certificate with just your best result and when you recieved the certificate e.g. jan 09

Bit confused

Thanks in advance for the help

Your exams officer is correct.
You cannot decline a result anymore.
You can choose not to cash in, then no certificate is issued but for ease of admin lot's of places automatically apply to cash in.
Take the resists and then apply ro cash-in again and get a new certificate.

P.S. if you don't believe either of us check the JCQ rules for all boards here:

What would the new certificate say? just the result after the resit or both results? as in the original and the new result

Dunno. Haven't got a certificate yet!Why not email your exam board and then post their reply here, am sure others would be interested to know.
