Hey
I am on a group chat with other students joining this year and some from student union
A lot of them are in the age range of 18-24
I am also attending this year and I’m 22
From what I gather there is a very huge age difference in a lot of students attending given the evening nature (a lot of working students prefer it )
But I’m sure you’ll find people your age
Cheers !
P.s: DM me to join the group

Hey I'm going into 3rd year History and IR and became 22 recently, and basically didn't make any connections so far cause it's been nearly two full years of online learning
but actually from my experience around half of class members are in younger age range, and you'll find that at Birkbeck many of the people above 25 are pretty chill as well. I was also a bit afraid when I started that it's going to be full of up-tight professionals, but it's really not!

Also kinda depends what course you're taking, but since Psychology is quite popular you'll find quite a few students at your age.

Hey. whats your ig!
My very good friend joined BBK last year at his 18. Yes, online teaching really undermined the chance to make friends, hope this year will be better.

hi! dont know if you’re still adding people to the gc but i start in 2 weeks and i’m 24. i’d like to know some people before i start <3
I have another friend who is joining BSc Psy at BBK too, 19 years ago. Therefore, really don't worry.

How would you rate the history course?

It was pretty good, not sure how relevant this still is to you though. But also, Birkbeck restructured their whole course system, and my programme isn#t on offer anymore. Not sure if I would go for a history-only programme. Module selection is fairly limited and very specialised, so definitely have a look at the module choices before applying.
