What would happen if you were a year in to your degree and for whatever reason the university shut down ?

The Office for Students (OfS), which regulates universities in England, requires that universities that are at "material risk" of "exiting the English higher education market" (e.g. closing down) have a pre-planned strategy for looking after their students.

That strategy will vary between universities, but could include (according to OfS, here) allowing current students to complete their course (but not accepting new students), providing for a "smooth transfer" to another institution, or exit awards.

Are you currently at a university which you think is in trouble? Or is this an entirely theoretical question?
