thank you so much for all the nice words! Funnily enough I'm probably more stressed about it now than I was applying in some ways haha - I mainly just enjoyed going to the open days and I was lucky as my offers came in relatively quickly. But I never expected I'd have to pick as I didn't think I'd get into Cambridge - part of me was hoping I wouldn't so I didn't need to decide! At the same time however, I'm very fortunate that I
can stress about which one to pick; I'm in a very privileged position and ultimately I know wherever I choose I'll make it work. Every uni in this thread is fantastic and really its just splitting hairs over which course/city you like the most.
If it helps I applied for straight social, and I had the advantage of applying in mid-october so my application was processed early; I just got lucky
I know StA usually takes forever though - as it happens my brother is applying for Archaeology there and he still hasn't heard back - hold tight
thanks for the advice - you're mirroring a lot of my thoughts haha. My main aim for the next three years is honestly just to be happy and enjoy my time as I'm only going to uni once. St. Andrews is indeed lovely and I'm sure I'd enjoy it, so the main thing I'm trying to work out now is whether its possible to have a good work-life balance at Cambridge and whether I could cope. I'm not really interested in prestige/job prospects (I know I should but its anthropology so I've kind of just accepted my fate 😛) but there are cool aspects about Cambridge that I need to weigh up.
Good luck with your offers!!
Yeah I applied for HSPS - I believe you can specialise into SocAnth by itself in the 2nd Year though, and if I go I'll probably swap out a politics module for something fun like Egyptology
