How’s international business at MMU and how’s the university in itself?

Hi @jzxxxxk I don’t do international business at MMU I do SLT therapy so I’m not sure about that aspect. However, I love MMU as a uni. Students are all really sociable and they have a fantastic range of society’s to get involved in. The lecture halls and rooms are all really new and modern, especially the business building! They are lovely places to learn it! The uni is spread out nicely over a section of the city and so it’s really easy to walk from place to place. The union is brilliant, they are very good at speedy responses and help you in every way they can!

What else would you like to know about MMU? Any specifics?

Hi @jzxxxxk [br] I’ve lived in 2 accommodations in my first year. Cambridge South and MSV Dwell living. Genuinely, how sociable the flat is really depends on who you are living with! I know people in ‘ the most sociable’ accoms who haven’t been sociable at all! There are so many accoms in MMU so I haven’t been to them all but I can defo suggest a few pros and cons for each. These are obvs from personal experience and people will defo of had a different opinion to me!

Cambridge south -
Cambridge is one of the most popular accoms socially. It’s one of the cheapest and very close to Oxford Road and lecture halls. If you are ok with noisy and party life this might be a good place for you. You have to share 2 toilets and showers between 10 and have one big kitchen. The kitchen isn’t furnished with sofas ,just the kitchen table, but has all necessary equipment to cook with. Cambridge doesn’t have a common room but people often just make really close mates with their Plentiful flat mates or socialise with other people on other floors. Cambridge North hasn’t been refurbished, but appliances still work. The social aspect and location is brilliant. It’s near the library, Tesco express and bus stops. I lived her for a bit but moved to MSV.

Cambridge north
Its like an upgraded version of south, upgraded kitchen appliances and bathroom. Same social vibe and it’s just across from north in the same courtyard, so just as good with location.

MSV
I love this accom and it’s really close to the centre of town and right next to courtyard, which is a really popular pub with the students. It has a gym, which is well furnished and clean, and the rooms has double beds and rlly roomy. These flats usually have 4 people in them. They are smaller so less noisy but still a nice in between between party and quiet. Facilities are lovely and they have a cute common room with lots of stuff to do.

Birley
This is another of one of the most popular accoms. They have a range of buildings round Manchester. Modern kitchens and spacious social areas and just as social as Cambridge.

Cavendish
this is located next to Cambridge and has bigger dorms usually of 12. It’s a little more expensive than Cambridge but has more of a common room type of lay out as it has a cinema you can book and have nights out in for free. Kitchens are spacious and have big bay windows to look out over the city. They also are pretty sociable accoms too!

these are just some of the accom that I’ve seen in person, there are so many in Manchester!

This is a link for the list of accoms for MMU. I’d defo suggest just emailing the staff to look round
, they are so helpful!

if you have any further questions don’t hesitate to ask!

Hi @Lemon 24

Unfortunately, I am afraid we don't have any of our current students on site! We apologise if this is disappointing for you. If you create a post in the student room a previous student may find your post and give you their experience! Any questions about the course specifically feel free to get in touch with our Course Enquiries team at [email protected]

Hi @Lemon 24 [br] i don’t know any who does cardiac physiology at MMU. But there are some fantastic group chats you can find on Facebook and WhatsApp to meet people on your course before you get here. Maybe have a look for them. I remember feeling so much more at home when I found other people I could chat to about the course and how to prepare.

best wishes,

Emily <3
