Applying to economics at nottingham

Hi I applied for both industrial economics and pure economics. I had taken my maths resit hoping to get a 7 from my previous 6. I was 12 marks off of a 7 unfortunately and was rejected for pure economics as I did not meet the gcse requirements. Is it worth doing my retake in may with my other subjects considering it was only a few marks and I would be likely to get a 7 or risky with other subjects? Can I swap over subject in department

if you are not taking maths at A level then you will struggle to take pure economics at degree level. There is a heavy dose of maths in that course.
