Polar Graphs?

For AQA A-Level Further Maths, is it worth memorising the different shapes that different polar graphs form?

Just asking bc I don't want to memorise 8 different types of limacon if it can be avoided :smile:

All I personally did was just calculate a couple of values, and plot them. You can even tabulate the values using your calculator, just find the table setting, plug in the function for r (and make sure you have the right range for theta and sufficient points) and plot them. So, I don't think it's necessary to memorise different polar curves. Of course do practice sketching too; you may even start to recognise patterns in the different curves and inadvertently memorise them.
