how to become a teacher

hi guys,
i have done my research into moving to spain in years to come and healthcare is very difficult to get into (almost impossible). someone mentioned to me about being a primary or secondary school teacher.
however, I was thinking about english teacher in secondary but i do not do a level english so they suggested psychology but what degree do i need for that?
also if i decided to become a primary school teacher what degree would i need?
how long do they take ?
If you chose to become a primary school teacher, you would need a degree in education, or a PGCE. You can get a degree in most subjects and still teach in primary schools. But you would need a PGCE or another teaching qualification as well. And you might have to prove your knowledge to teach Maths and English at primary schools if they aren't your specialist subjects.

The best thing I did was check with local schools. Maybe there are job advertisements that will show you what they are looking for, which is a decent guide.

Dear alevelstudent090,

There is a lot of useful information at https://getintoteaching.education.gov.uk/ about the steps to becoming a teacher. On this page, https://getintoteaching.education.gov.uk/steps-to-become-a-teacher, there are specific details about the qualifications you need.

I hope you find the links helpful.

All the very best with your research.
Suzanne
