CS Apprenticeship

Hello everyone, UoB have a computer science with digital technology partnership (pwc ) apprenticeship, if i was to do this apprenticeship would it limit me to only being able to do one specific job in the computer science field , i would like to go down the apprenticeship route but i worry that it wud limit me to one kind of job i could have in computer science ,where as a normal degree would open me up to all the different possibilities e.g. cyber security , AI , software development etc., is there an apprenticeship in birmingham that wouldnt limit me to one field of cs e.g. the UoB one?

From my experience depending on the apprenticeship you take, if you took a Digital & Technical Degree, years 1 you end up studying a broad range of IT subject matters Year 2 and Year 3 as well. You do get a range of skills and then you and your organisation decide what specialism you want to go into.
But if you wanted to do a specific Apprenticeship, such as Cyber Security, those are available also, it all depends on your choices.

Can be found anywhere, Indeed is a good place to look, there is usually a time period that the popular ones are available, Nov-March (National apprenitceship week there are a few but that window is like 7 days).
Two ways.
Find a sector you like and enjoy and find the apprenticeship within that. (the organisation will sort out which university you will attend)
The second option is contacting a company and asking them to sponsor you via a specific university.
The first option is usually easier.

I found this and they have a few apprenticeships, if im being honest im very skeptical as i really want something that would help me earn a high position in the field or be a good path towards it. do u think any of these apprenticeships would be suitable or would i likely be stuck at a very base level job with little room to improve?

I couldn't really click on a link within this site to go into a detailed section or application for apprenticeships.
I can see headings for - IT TECHNICAL - IT ENGINEERING - IT REPAIR and SUPPLY CHAIN - BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION and IT SUPPORT.
All of which are good sectors to go into, but it will depend on what you want to do and most importantly like doing.

seem like you’re still unsure about what you want to do. you will have to take a gap year and to start deciding what you want.
or go to university. apprenticeships ARE NOT something to be messed with to “find yourself” and to make decisions.
or just start interviewing at lots of companies to find out what these employers expect of you.

you are going into apprenticeships with a skewed view of what they provide.

job is no1 learning is no2 in an apprenticeship. focus on the job description more because 80% of you time is in work
