If I become a detective constable, can also be a firearms officer?

Only in very limited circumstances. For the vast majority of purposes the modern role of a detective is completely incompatible with that of an AFO. Detectives in most roles are case managers and an overwhelmingly office-based role. There is no role in frontline policing for DC AFOs. You would have to become a detective and then after some years apply to a central or specialist role that has firearms officers - I can only think of a few limited roles in CT, and of course the Flying Squad.

If you want a firearms role, you should join as a PC.

That's ok.

I would give a lot of thought before taking on either of the two roles you mention. Detectives at the junior level have a desk job with a very high workload and sometimes carry a lot of risk.

The majority of police firearms officers are essentially security guards with guns, and most of these are in the Met, as well as two national forces (CNC and MDP) who only carry out armed protective roles. The kind of armed roles that are highly glamorised are ARVs and SFOs. These are quite demanding jobs, there aren't many of them and they get exposed to a lot of risk. A fair degree of policing experience prior to going to those roles would be preferable if nothing else so that one's risk assessment and use of force are quite well honed.
