Combined science

How do I revise for GCSE combined science higher. I have the CGP books but I feel as though they don’t into enough detail. What can I use alongside the books to cover all the content. Or are the CGP books enough to revise from so I just revise from them? Has anyone done that?
Hello, I did Combined Science higher last year and although science was not my cup of tea, these resources saved my grades.

The first is Senneca online platform, they have an interactive course where you do questions based on the topic you are doing as part of a whole course and it provides the information on the page as well. You can also challenge friends which makes it a bit more light-hearted. I originally used this for another subject of mine and it was great.

The next one is often overlooked: Youtube. It is basically a free learning platform for anything and I have linked the channels I found most useful here:

https://www.youtube.com/@ScienceShorts

And then finally: Tassomai. My school provided this to us as part of our homework schedule and don't get me wrong it was dreadfully dull, but it got to the point that when it repeated questions you thought that it was common sense- which for someone who doesn't like science, is quite a nice thought.

Hope this helps and let me know of any further questions you have:smile: Good luck!

My current grade is a 4/5 in science and maths and I want all 6s would this be possible with the time I have left?

Absolutely! Many will tell you it is not, however I believe it is as the adrenaline from last minute revising ended up getting me more motivated to do well. I was in a worse predicament than you and didn't actually revise until the last possible minute (my exams started earlier than most in the middle of May, so literally started revising night before my first) and was achieving 4-4 in my combined science mock papers in school but I ended up with a 6-5 overall.

I also got a 6 in Maths, but what I will say is it is vital to understand the way they word a question. It's a cliche I know, but they will write a whole essay for a question when all you need to do is 'SOHCAHTOA', which kind of through me out but if you understand the scenario they give- you will have a better shot at answering correctly.
