sources A question was on religion and identity (6)
Source B question was on how the work place socialises individuals (8)
outline and briefly evaluate the view that ethnic identities are now hybrid (12)

totally agree. liked all the questions apart from the 24 marker. answered it however really badly and not to a high standard at all. i think a lot of people were thrown off by it. do you know if grade boundaries for paper 1 are set differntly for the different section B? if not i fear that those of us who did famillies and relationships will be significantly impacted

not a clue about the grade boundaries, i was wondering this as well, hopefully we aren't impacted because people that did subculture or other options liked their 24 marker by the sounds of it :frown:

i just talked about large multi generational families and countered it with some ethnicity identity points saying that family is no longer as strong, don't think my answer was strong either so we are all in the same boat! we will just hope paper 2 and paper 3 high mark tarriff questions are better :frown:

i did ghumann, murray and bethoud&beishon but i’m not sure i linked it correctly cuz i talked more about how they socialise children differently rather than how they’re diverse in terms of family type e.g extended family-asian, single parent families-black and the evaluation was so difficult so i’m reallly not sure how it’ll go :/ hope the other questions make up for it tho and we still have paper 2 and 3 so i wouldn’t stress too much

yeah it's good we still have paper 2 and 3, i did ghumann as well and did it similar to you so fingers crossed we are okay!

20 marker disability negative identity
Then I did families so:
Re constituted families 12 marker
Roles between partners 16 marker
Ethnicity and family diversity 24 marker

I’m so glad as i predicted that disability and postmodernism will come up but overall that paper was great

Does anyone know what the exam questions were for paper 1 both sections for 2023 sociology exam? Or remember roughly what the topics were for the questions?

Global culture- 6 marker
Education as an agent of social control - 12 marker
20 marker - disability and negative identity
Sec B families:
12 marker on reconstituted families
16 marker on roles between partners
24 marker on families and ethnicity diversity
