is it necessary to have computer science at a level for robotics???

my current a level options are maths, physics and economics and i wanna do mech engineering rn but if i were to change my mind in the future and do robotics engineering, is it really necessary to have computing as an a level or is doing information technology at gcse (i prob got D*) good enough??

any suggestions are massively appreciated

Honestly doing physics and maths is enough, I applied for mechatronics/robotics with those 2 subjects (3rd being sociology which is completely random) and it was fine. Since it’s still engineering it’s physics that they care more about. For example, at uni open days I’ve been to, they assume everyone has no coding knowledge beforehand so everything is taught from scratch. I hope that helps!
