Imperial Physics

Imperial says that in practice, most of their offers are for 3A*s to study physics ( greater than 50%). Given that I take Maths, FM, Physics, Econ, and I am likely to be predicted 3A* with the A in FM, does this limit my competitiveness (irrespective of my personal statement)? I'm asking this as I would assume that the A* in further maths predicted would be preferred. I also go to a private school, and I am unsure whether this will affect the outlook on what grades I should be achieving.

Thanks!

3A*s is more than enough for imperial physics, at the offer holder day most people i met took maths + physics + another subject (not necessarily FM! - one even did religious studies!)
last year, 214 A*A*A offers and 111 A*A*A* were given out - only in 2021 were there more A*A*A* offers than A*A*A offers
you can also view the admissions statistics here: https://www.imperial.ac.uk/media/imperial-college/study/apply/public/2023-01-25_UCAS-2018-2022-Cycle-Transparency-Admissions-Statistics-_for-public-final2.2.xlsx (taken from https://www.imperial.ac.uk/about/introducing-imperial/facts-and-figures/college-data-and-statistics-catalogue/college-overview/statistics-guide/transparency-information/)

for reference, I was predicted A*A*AA maths, physics, compsci, FM and got an offer of A*A*A (maths, physics, FM/compsci)
I think a big factor is the admissions test in feb which I found to be quite doable, not sure about other people

FM is preferred though, but they will probably give out an offer for A*A* maths/physics and A in either econs or FM for you

can't speak on anything about whether your being at a private school will have any impact on it though, good luck!

Hi
What would be the best way to prepare for the online test. What did you use.
Thanks
