why does the increase/decrease of CO2 cause it to be acidic?

CO2 dissolves in water to form a weak acid called carbonic acid. Increasing CO2 concentration lowers the pH, but if CO2 concentration decreases then pH will rise.

carry the x, add the y and square the z. therefore this will be acidic
