volunteering during A levels

i'm about to start year 12 and i'm thinking of what i should do to get volunteering hours, as medicine is what's mainly on my mind for after this. i was thinking mainly an animal shelter, or other options included a care home or a charity, but i'm not sure if an animal shelter will actually be relevant in the future for it or not

if you are planning on medicine an animal shelter probably isn't the most relevant as it begs the questions why aren't you doing veterinary medicine? That being said anything can become relevant with medicine if you reflect on your experience meaningfully. I would recommend volunteering in a care home, charity shop or possibly working with children/people with learning difficulties. This will make it easier in interviews to work your experiences into answers.
