IGCSE to A-Levels or AP?

Hi!

I’m an online school student and for grades 9-10 (years 10-11) I did IGCSE. For grades 11-12 (years 12-13) I am considering taking AP instead of A-Levels. (I feel more inclined to do so as I can take a higher number of subjects. Plus, it’s more financially viable for me.) However, I’m worrying how this’ll affect me for university (which I’m hoping to go in the US, Canada, or Asia) as I would be an international student with IGCSEs, AP, SAT, TOEFL etc but no high school diploma. Does it work for me to take an American course - AP - yet not have an American High School Diploma? Is it better to stay and do A Levels?
I think A levels are more valuable generally. (For instance, a US university would give you one semester credit for AP but two semesters or one year credit for A level, and A levels are considered more rigorous than AP.) Unless your interests span more than 3 subjects, A levels would be the better choice.
