i’m not sure if this is a stupid question but do you need like a personal statement and a ucas account to apply for clearing or can you just call them up?
Clearing is part of UCAS.
All offers have to eventually go through UCAS. Either through a standard application process or through the process above (called an RPA).
Only a minority of universities will agree to the RPA process so relying on that will limit your options significantly.
You don’t need a fully submitted UCAS application to ring up and enquire about clearing places but I would strongly recommend starting your application and submitting it once you have some provisional clearing offers.
