Uni entry points

Hi,

I see a lot about 112 ucas points needed for uni.

Is this a firm number or do uni's accept less ?

Thanks

They do sometimes yes, if the personal statement is good and the reference

Some Unis that accept UCAS points - because these are not 'top' Unis that only make grade offers - will consider you just below their requirements. However, this is risky because they may not make you an offer and you then if you make this your Firm choice, you have to actually meet that offer next August.

The usual advice for your 5 UCAS choices is :
1 or 2 just about your predicted grades - one grade and not in a vital subject.
2 or 3 at your predicted grades - you are most likely to get offers for these choices.
1 or 2 below your predicted grades - these are your safety choice(s), and what you would potentially use as your Insurance.
