time table foundation year

I have a quick query. Could someone provide me with a sample timetable for a full-time program in finance with a foundation year, please? I haven't received any communication from the university yet, and I'd like to get a sense of what to expect.

Your timetable will be available to you once you complete in-person enrolment next week. However, to give you an indicative idea of contact hours. Please refer to the 2023/24 academic year entry Programme specification.

You'll have four modules in your foundation year, I've linked each module specification for 2023/24:

[url="https://www.reading.ac.uk/module/document.aspx?modP=IF0FM1&modYR=2324"]IF0FM1 - Foundation Mathematics (Full academic year)

[url="https://www.reading.ac.uk/module/document.aspx?modP=IF0RAS&modYR=2324"]IF0RAS - Foundation in Academic Skills (Autumn and spring term)

If you scroll down you'll roughly see how many contact hours you'll have for each module over the course of each term.

Hope this helps.

Definitely depends on the pathway OP is doing  I never did the first two modules on your list.

If OP is doing a science pathway they'll most likely be doing Chemistry (CH0CHE) - https://www.reading.ac.uk/module/document.aspx?modP=CH0CHE&modYR=2324

And biology https://www.reading.ac.uk/module/document.aspx?modP=BI0BF1&modYR=2324

A couple of years ago there was a optional module for environmental science if you'd already passed A Level Chem/Bio at certain grade, not sure if that's still an option though.

I just went based on the OP made reference it was BSc Finance with Foundation which has a specific pathway to meet ICMA Centre requirements:smile:. However, I'm aware the Foundation specifications are changing annually.

Hey @F.Chamberlain,

Great question. There's some really helpful information from @m.elliot which I can see, so definitely have a look at that.
Otherwise, Fang may have some useful insight into what finance modules may be like timetable-wise, however, this is for the Finance and Investment Banking course so do bare that in mind, but I thought there could be some similarities if you do want to chat with them. Unfortunately I couldn't find an ambassador who studies this exact course to put you in contact with - sorry!

You will receive your full timetable when you have your university log in, as you need this to access any university related information. You will receive this after you have completed in-person enrolment. Courses vary in terms of contact hours and things, so unfortunately, I don't have much more insight into what you can expect timewise for your course I'm afraid, but @m.elliot's tips are really useful!

If you have any other questions about starting university or anything at all before you join though, please do let us know and we can do our best to help/point you in the right direction!

Best of luck for your new chapter!
