Do kitchens in university halls come fully equipped

Generally no, they are likely to have fridge, freezer, cooker, microwave, kettle, but its usually up to individual students to supply plates, pots, pans, cutlery etc. Your hall may well have a "stuff to bring" list on line to provide this kind of detail.

Take old stuff from home as it may get taken or get mislaid at university.

Hi there

It depends on your University, but generally they are not "fully equipped". University kitchens' normally have an oven, microwave, kettle, fridge, freezer, etc. so it is up to students to bring their own cutlery.

I would suggest looking for a list of stuff to pack on your University's website.
