Missing welcome week events...

Hey, so I didn't realise that the welcome week events were compulsory and I took an early shift at work because I thought I had the day free... I just checked and I've missed the associate dean's speech and I'll probably miss most of the second event too but if I can try and get out of work I could potentially make it to the final two that are scheduled for this afternoon. Will I miss anything crucial or get into trouble? I don't want to **** up in the first week :s-smilie:

The events I have today are welcome speeches and one of them seems to be more of an ice-breaker type thing. The events I have scheduled for Thursday seem more important like library tours and assessment+module information, which I'll obviously attend now knowing they're compulsory.
