Distance learning - asked to send evidence when reapplying

Hello

I was told i wouldn’t need to send everything in again last year. I’ve came to reapply (I’m actually redoing the full year) and as part of the reapplication I have had to upload proof. Is it ok to use the drs letter from last year? I was told I wouldn’t have to jump through all these hoops again and in fact I was told I wouldn’t have to upload anything when reapplying

Thanks

Hi 1Confusedperson1,

Is this to be awarded with an additional year of CPR (Compelling Personal Reasons)? If so, it would need to cover the previous academic year, to confirm why you are repeating this again. We can accept a GP/university letter, that confirms, what happened, when this happened and how this directly impacted your studies.

Hello

No this is to prove I’m studying distance learning due to disability so I can get the maintenance loan

Thanks
You need to prove you're studying a distance learning course due to your disability, mental-health condition, long-term health condition or specific learning difficulty

But I have this last year when I applied and they said I wouldn’t have to do it each year

Hi 1Confusedperson1,

The request for this evidence can show automatically on your account, can you confirm when you applied and if there is a timescale showing on your account?

Hello

I applied yesterday, I uploaded the doctor letter from last year anyway but it was such a nightmare last year I had to go back to the doctor to get 4 different letters at £25 a letter as SFE said the wording wasn’t right. I just really can’t handle a situation like that again and I would honestly just not apply again if it’s going to be like that?

Hi 1Confusedperson1,

If you were previously advised that it has been awarded for the duration of the course based on your circumstances, it is likely that the pend showing on your account for evidence is just an automatic update and that should be resolved when the assessors review this manually for you. Our current timescales are approximately 20 working days, with subject to change depending on our current volumes.

Hello
I don’t think I was told that, it was just when I rang the person said you only have to do it at the beginning of the course. So you usually have to get a new doctors letter each year? The doctors letter I have does state “for the entirety of the course” - would that be enough ?

Hi 1Confusedperson1,

This would need to be confirmed by an assessor once it is processed, you should receive an email or an update on your account around the timeframe I provided.
