Ancient Greek Translation

I am currently a student on my gap year awaiting to start a classical civilisation degree at Manchester next year. I am very passionate about classics and have always been. One of my many names is Apollonia, which as I understand from online research means ‘belonging to Apollo.’
My father understands a lot of ancient Greek, as we are Greek and he learned it at school and he has translated 'follower of the sun' as ὀπηδὸς τοῦ ἡλίου written exactly like this (accents and hyphens included). Please if anyone can reassure me, if this is correct as I will have this permanently on my arm and I would hate to have the wrong thing.
