Alevel Practicals OCR A

For ocr a Biology alevel practical 12 is a research practical what would you be doing, in terms of what is the research about and would they provide me with a topic to research and only then and there in the lab I’d be researching that specified topic? What is that practical about?

We do a respiration experiment where students have to research and plan the practical, including citations.
It comes up in a google search if you want more detail

Thank you for replying, so to clarify when I am doing the PAG 12 I use a topic the specification gives and I have to use resources to find out more, sorry if my questions are confusing I am an independent learner so I could really use the help to understand what is to be expected from me when doing the PAG 12 as I have heard it’s a research practical but a YouTube teacher told me to find a topic to research that is not on the spec so I’m just really confused on what to do

Ah, ok. The exam board told us this was accepatable too.

So we can submit as evidence an epq style essay written by the student on a topic of their choice that is not on the syllabus (and therefore not in the textbook) where they have researched and cited it. so pick something of interest to you

so when I come to do the PAG 12 what would usually happen as in would you get given the topic to research upon and how would you research that topic would you Google it in the lab or grab a textbook and find it there, and then would you make like a research paper or just write down the instructions to whatever method you have researched? Could you please explain how the PAG 12 would normally occur like, as I am trying to understand what it would be like and if I have to pre prepare something and bring my own resources
