Hi there,
This is absolutely true with civil engineering, along with all degrees really ! Civil engineering will develop a lot of your skills including mathematical, analytical, physics, IT software, etc. Any degree will help you with general skills such as time management, communication, team working and more so you can utilise your degree in whichever direction you pursue.
In general civil engineering can be transferred to a job which doesn't require a specific degree to do. This does actually include other engineering job titles for example you may go into mechanical engineering with a civil engineering degree. As long as there is not dedicated route to take (such as needing a medical degree for nursing/doctors etc) then you can transfer a lot of your skills into a different career path.
Good luck with all,
