I’ve just opened a student account with Santander. My balance when I first had it was £600 and now it’s -£200. Will it still increase to £1500 now its below £500

As long as you stick to the terms and pay in £500 or more every four months, then you retain the £1,500 overdraft facility. You appear to have met the condition for your first term (by paying in £600). Your balance doesn't matter (as long as you don't go over your overdraft limit).
