1 A circle has the equation (x + 2)^2+(y-1)^2 =10

a Write down the radius and the coordinates of the centre of the circle.

b Prove that the line y = 5 2x does NOT intersect the circle.


My brain is so tired, and I just don't know what to do. Please help

Assuming you are OK with part (a), the way to get started on part (b) is to substitute the line equation y = 5 - 2x into the equation of the circle. You should then be able to rearrange what you have into a quadratic equation in x. see if you can progress from there.
