My year 10 gyg :)

Hi, welcome to my year 10 Gyg!

I hope it isn’t too late to start, but I’ve decided to make a Gyg!

What subjects am i studying?
-English Lit 📖
-English Lang 📚
-Maths 🧮
-Biology 🧫
-Chemistry 🧪
-Physics 🧲
-History 🏛️
-Computer Science 💻
-3D Design 📐
-German 🇩🇪

What are my goals?
-My main goal for this year is to survive my mocks, and get good grades in the process (hopefully 7’s, 8’s and 9’s).

-I also want to get better at English Lit and Lang as they are my weakest subjects.

-When I’m older I want to go into a career of either Programming, Architecture or Engineering so I want to work hard to get the GCSE grades i need when it comes to the real thing.

What are my hobbies?
Currently: I play the Guitar 🎸 and Horn 🎵; I’ve started Rubix cubing and I love drawing 🎨

What will i be posting here?
I will be posting:

-Study/homework To-do lists
-my assessment triumphs  and downfalls :frown:
-homework struggles
-my revision timetable
-Study tips

Because I started a bit late I thought that I could make a catch up post!

Assessment triumphs/downfalls
-I’ve done two German tests and I’ve done ‘sehr gut’ in both
-I’ve done a maths test and I somehow got 100%, I was so chuffed! :nyan:
-I’ve done a Computer Science test and I’ve got 81%
-I also have done an English and History test but I am yet to get those back
-Yesterday I finally caught up with all my 3D Design coursework, so i can now focus on making my model :h: , I will reveal what it is soon

Homework to do list:
-Revise for my next German test by making flashcards on Quizlet
-Do the Physics sheet given in lesson
-Do my Chemistry online homework
-Revise language and structure for English Lang

I’m really happy with how everything’s going, my main secret is putting the time and effort in, and aiming high  I’ve got some other tips too:

-When your doing homework tasks theres nothing wrong with putting a video in the background as long as you concentrate on what your doing, this has helped me get more done in one sitting

-For revision I listen to Lofi beats or ambient music, videos aren’t a good idea as you need to be concentrating on the content. Revision cards, mind maps and blurting have been the most successful methods of revision for me

For Maths I would 100% recommend timing yourself doing past papers and then reviewing where you need to improve. After this I would use a website like Hegarty Maths/Sparx to target specific topics/areas to improve on. Hope this helps!
