A total of how many gcse subjects do you need in order to get into the a- level subjects that will get you into medicine?

it is not necessarily about how many subjects you did, but you do need to have good grades in:
English language
Maths
Biology
Chemistry
it would be good to have grade 6 or more in these subjects
and the a levels that you will need are Biology and Chemistry
So it's ok if I simply get a pass in other subjects like psychology and sociology?
